In a nutshell

In Manchester two Churches, Ivy Manchester and Altrincham Baptist Church independently approached The Trafford Centre to see if they could host their Carol services in The Orient, their massive food court complete with large stage and video. The Centre was delighted and encouraged them to do a rolling programme of music featuring Gospel choirs, hip hop music, drama, testimonies and short Christian messages on their two busiest Sundays of the year, the 14th and 21st December. Literally thousands of shoppers stopped and joined in and invitations to Alpha and free copies of The Gift of Hope booklet were distributed (see Resources for more details).
If we are sensitive all the evidence is shopping centres will welcome churches in and how great for the good news of Christians to be in the market place rather than behind our church walls!
