Furniture recycling

The Cinnamon Network is hosting a Furniture Recycling event in London on 3rd October 2013 (10:30 am - 3:00 pm) for churches who are running, or want to run, a furniture recycling project. It is estimated that there are over 200 churches running a project like this across the UK.
  • Some projects have paid staff, others are completely volunteer-based.
  • Some are charities, and others are social enterprises with elements which are paid for by local authorities or retail customers.
  • Some include employability programmes and include community service contract
  • Many of them signpost users for assistance with issues such as debt, food poverty, addiction and unemployment.
Those who attend the event will benefit from the opportunity to:
  • Share stories of how God is at work through church-based furniture recycling.
  • Learn from one another and begin the process of identifying best practice models including business plans, template policies, help with transport and much more.
  • Receive a briefing about how to access funding from The Cinnamon Network and elsewhere to get started and for on-going support.
  • Explore setting up a ‘light touch’ support network of churches which are involved in furniture reuse and possible replicable model.
  • Pray together for the mobilisation of the UK Church to help those people who are most at need in our communities.
Attendance at the event is free but places are limited to 150 available on a ‘first come first served’ basis.
