Lockdown is not our shutdown
Lockdown is not and was not our shutdown! It maybe feels like another heavy blow for the Church in the UK for gathered events, BUT again it is another opportunity to get active and viral in our scattered service of Jesus! The Bible is littered with lockdown examples, Paul being one of the main characters we see facing prison, mob rule, shipwrecks and more. Paul’s story shows us how God operates outside these circumstances again and again. I am so thankful that God is bigger than lockdown, Covid-19 and 2020!

So can I encourage us to stay connected to other youth workers, keep Jesus the focus of all we do and give your best to who you are discipling!

What?! A fully online Young Evangelists Academy... YES!
Amplify-LogoWe continue to take steps of faith to equip the next wave of evangelists and to help young people see Jesus-shaped change in their generation!  We took a step of faith in June of this year to change the flow of the coming Amplify year and keep some of it in person. Now we have made a further change to the year. After prayer and seeking God’s wisdom, we have decided to run the full Amplify year online. The year length is the same – January to July 2021 – small groups and specialist mentoring will continue as planned, but we will be doing the day conference as a shortened afternoon event on Saturday 23rd January 2021, the date the day conference was to be held. We are excited about this opportunity to raise up the next wave of evangelists in the UK! To see their neighbours, nation and the nations impacted with the gospel!

Checkout Josh's story about how he and some friends are reaching people online.

Biblical relevance in a secular & lockdown society
The Bible is the living word of God, eternally relevant and prophetically sharp in 2020 just as it will be for all of time! The Talking Jesus research showed that for 27% of practising Christians, reading the Bible for themselves was a key influence in their coming to faith. We have been working on a number of brilliant resources to help people access and engage with the Bible, people from every sphere of life, but particularly for young people I want to recommend:
Bible-Series
The Bible Series
We have created a great youth series with Bible Society called ‘The Bible Series’, we roped in an old HOPE Youth friend Phil Timson to be in it.
