HOPE-Together-Square-Medium   News Update
18 December 2020

‘For a child has been born—for us! the gift of a son—for us! … His names will be: Amazing Counsellor, Strong God, Eternal Father, Prince of Wholeness’ (Isaiah 9:6 The Message).

2020 has been a year to remember. No one could have expected what it would bring. As we prayed through the year, that God would give us opportunities to make Jesus known, we have been thrilled at the ways he has answered our prayers. Church buildings have been closed but the church – the Body of Christ – has been alive and well, loving and serving communities in Jesus’ name putting faith into action together. Individuals have given away 62,000 copies of Hope in Uncertain Times, the little pocket-sized giveaway that we published in the first lockdown. All 200,000 copies of our HOPE at Christmas magazine have been given away and we are so pleased that The Entertainer shops have also given away the magazine and the Happyland Nativity booklet for children. As we look ahead to the New Year, we have exciting news to share at the start of 2021 - look out for our emails. Meanwhile, as we celebrate Jesus’ birth, let’s welcome him afresh into our lives – the Prince of Peace, who makes all things new.

Have a peaceful Christmas and a hope-filled New Year

Prayer 2020

In 2019 Jane Holloway, who has been part of the HOPE team since we began, sensed that God was calling us to pray throughout 2020 that we would have many opportunities to talk to people about Jesus in 2020. We called the campaign Prayer 2020 with a call to prayer on the 20th of every month at 20:20 (8.20pm) for 20 minutes. We have been surprised and encouraged how God has been answering our prayers in spite of Covid-19. Join us on Facebook Live @HopeTogether for the last Prayer 2020 of the year on Sunday 20th December at 8.20pm.
The Wellbeing Journey

Wellbeing is on so many people’s minds at this time. We have teamed up with KingsGate Church to produce The Wellbeing Journey that, yes, you can run in your church, but let’s not keep the good news of God’s plan for our wellbeing to ourselves. Let’s share this resource with those outside our churches. The series has an underlying Christian ethos and is suitable for those on the fringes of our churches. Who could you invite? Your friends and family? People in your community, local gym, schools and workplaces could join the journey and find that asking questions about their spiritual wellbeing will lead them closer to Jesus. Find out more at
Prince of Peace
We believe there is a generation who need to know Jesus as Prince of Peace more than ever. They needed his peace well before a year of (a minimum of) two lockdowns and a global pandemic. We are probably aware this year has caused a rise in anxiety, loneliness and mental challenges for young people. So can we encourage you this Christmas, as we seek to reach out with the Christmas story of Good News of great joy for all people, to seek to help young people discover Jesus the Prince of Peace in the midst of chaos and loneliness? The Youth Wellbeing Journey is by young people for young people! To help them discover God's plan for their wellbeing and encounter the prince of peace! We have created a video series to run in tandem with the series for adults, to help young people go on the same Wellbeing Journey. Launching and available for youth groups this January! Find out more at
way to find hope this Christmas

In partnership with The Way UK, we have produced a magazine-style Christmas YouTube video for youth groups to share and young people to pass on to their mates. This fun-filled, conversational and inspirational video will help young people find hope in Jesus this Christmas.
