Building relationships

HOPE began as Roy Crowne, Mike Pilavachi and Andy Hawthorne, the leaders of three national ministries, agreed to work together with a common vision to see the UK transformed by Jesus. They developed trust by setting aside time to develop a strong friendship. This feature of trusting relationships has been replicated as HOPE brings together the leaders of denominations and ministries to work together, pooling resources and laying down their separate ambitions for the greater good. 

Words and actions together

The tried and tested mission focus is on serving the community alongside preaching the gospel. Words are backed up with actions. HOPE provides training with the Talking Jesus course, so those who serve are prepared to give a reason for the hope they have. Giveaway gospel-focused resources such as the HOPE magazines or booklets like ‘Your Wellbeing Journey’ and ‘Hope in Uncertain Times’ mean there’s something to giveaway with an invitation to specific mission events and to start conversations about Jesus.

Calendar Moments

HOPE encourages churches to focus on key calendar moments to concentrate mission efforts. As a result, churches bring their communities together at Christmas, Easter and national events like the Queen’s birthday, putting the spotlight onto Jesus.
