We know from the Talking Jesus research that 53% of non-Christians know a practising Christian who they like and trust. We also know that non-Christians are interested when we share our story and ask them to share their own. So the aim is for everyone exploring faith to have someone, ideally a Christian friend, to accompany them on journey.

Nurturing Connection

• Encourage your team to be intentional about forming relationships with non-Christians
• Consider WhatsApp groups to maintain and grow connection
• If people seem warm/responsive on the doorstep but don’t turn up to the Bible Discovery Community does the initial connection know them well enough to gently go back and tell them they were missed/it’s not too late to join?
• Relationship is key and it starts by making time to hang out with people and being willing to share life together.

What is the right next step for an individual e.g. a course a church is offering such as Wellbeing, Alpha, or do they need a more relational approach e.g. 1:1 conversation – can be on Whatsapp or face to face, sharing life, exploring the Bible, praying together
